man, do i love some steak, especially flank steak! but i have to find ways to incorporate it into several meals given that one flank steak is usually at least $15. the package that i bought was about 2 pounds and was $8.99 per pound. if you can find the flank steak on sale, even better! below you will find 3 meals i made with the flank steak, finding a way to stretch the cost and add some variety.
flank steak and blue cheese flatbreads – red onion, fresh tomato, scallions, mozzarella, blue cheese and grilled steak on top of flat bread. i lightly brushed the dough with some garlic oil for some extra goodness. the flavors sent us sailing through the roof. you gotta try this one.
flank steak salad with sesame dressing– using leftover grilled steak from the pizza, i piled it on top of a bed of fresh spinach and red onions. it gets drizzled with a flavorful sesame vinaigrette, only to get topped with crunchy chow mein noodles.
crispy mongolian beef– one of my favorite asian dishes. lightly fried beef chunks, smothered in a dark rich sauce with spring onions.
enjoy!
