fresh strawberry sorbet

my family loves to eat any cold treat. when i had emergency surgery a few years ago, i was put on a liquid diet the day before. i had chicken broth, jello and luigi's italian ice. i ate about 25 packs of italian ice that day. okay, maybe not that many, but i fell in love with it. from that point on, you could not stop me from buying luigi's when i had a coupon for it. this sorbet is not luigi's but it is absolutely delicious for half the cost. to be honest, if i knew how easy this sorbet was, i would have been making it a LOT sooner. 3 ingredients mixed in a blender. 1,2,3 - your done!
ingredients:
- 1 (16 ounce) bag strawberries - defrosted slightly
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar -
- 1/2 lemon - juiced
instructions:
- add the strawberries, lemon juice and powdered sugar to a blender and puree until smooth. since your strawberries are slightly frozen, your puree should be cold and not need to be refrigerated before adding to your ice cream machine.
- pour the puree to your ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- once churned...
- add the sorbet to a pan, smooth out.
- scoop out and serve.
