nutella cream stuffed strawberries

as you all know, my oven is not working! with the new oven on the way, i had to get creative with my mother's day treats this year. i started thinking about no-bake ideas, and saw some gorgeous strawberries on sale on the grocery store. paring them with my best friend nutella seemed perfect! these stuffed strawberries are delicous. my family could not stop eating them! i know my mom will love them for mother's day!
ingredients:
- 1 pint of strawberries -
- 1 cup heavy cream -
- 3 tablespoons sugar -
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract -
- 3/4 cup nutella -
instructions:
- cut the top of the strawberries off and place the strawberry cut side down on a plate. slice each strawberry horizontally, 3/4 of the way down, being careful not to cut all the way through. then cut the strawberry vertically, 3/4 of the way down as well. your cuts should look like a cross.
- in a chilled bowl, using a mixer or whisk, blend the heavy cream until soft peaks form. add the sugar and the vanilla. continue blending the cream until it is thick and creamy. fold in the nutella. place the mixture in a piping bag or ziploc bag with the corner snipped off. hold the strawberry open with one hand and pipe the nutella cream into the strawberry. place on a decorative platter.
if you like more chocolatey treats, add more nutella to the cream and vice versa. you can cut the strawberries however you like. just make them look pretty!
