fried cabbage with turkey bacon
i absolutely love cabbage. this is a simple side dish that goes great with almost anything. delicious with our homemade homemade buttermilk cornbread.
- 2 tablespoons canola oil -
- 1 tablespoon butter -
- 4 slices turkey bacon - chopped
- 3 cloves garlic - minced
- 1 onion - chopped
- 1 large head of cabbage - cored, and chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika -
- salt/pepper -
in a large saucepan melt the canola oil and butter over medium-high heat. add the turkey bacon and cook until crisp. add garlic and onions and cook for about 3-5 minutes until tender. add the cabbage, paprika and salt/pepper to taste. stir constantly until everything is combined and cabbage is tender.
